I tried...

I really did. I said, "Winter!  I am going to crochet you away!  Snow! Begone!"


           But, it didn't work.

                          The snow continued to fall.


                                          Yes, I know! I know! It's pretty.  But it's also TOO DARN COLD!

Can you tell I'm over it?


     There is one thing that will cheer up the face of a cold girl...

    

A NEW SKOODIE! 

This pic was taken backstage in our greenroom and it's a little silly - but you get the idea. I really love that I am sitting next to a pile of toilet paper!  (ooops) This new piece this made with 2 different types of yarn and it is so squishy!  I don't want to give it up!  It's a custom order bday gift.  I hope she loves it as much as I do!

As soon as I took my Skoodie's off of my etsy site - custom orders started rolling in.  So I gave in. Skoodie's are again available here in my shop.  You can't fool mother nature.  It's a cold one out there and we still need help staying warm for at least another month or so.

Actor Crafts Success!

Loads of fun was had at Molly Made's latest craft show. It was a little slow at first, but ending up being quite a hit. I mean really, I would NOT have been there at 10am either if I wasn't working. Wish I had taken a pic of the table and my GORG new table cloth, but you'll have to wait til my next show Dec 13th, Winter Blast in Astoria!

Um... this is clearly just me being goofy. I made a bunch of dino skoodies (I call it a Skoodosaurus)a few years ago and I really need to bring them back! This one is going to Craig's nephew! I love the wonky eyes!

ActorCrafts Nov. 21st Craft Fair in NYC

I've been crafting like crazy! Custom orders have been rolling in, and I have a few new designs to share!!

I'm most excited about my new Skoodie (hooded scarf). It has a rounded hood like a hat, a really long scarf with giant tassels! It's crocheted with two yarns, one big fluffy stand , and one super shiny textured strand.

Come checkout this new Skoodie and my other bits of joy this Saturday at Actor Crafts at 332 W 43rd Street (between 8th and 9th) from 10am-6pm!

The holidays had me busy like a bee. I'm on the road with the National Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which has allowed me to check out some BEAUTIFUL yarn stores. I'll post details on that soon... but for now, here's a few of my newest projects.  Happy New Year!     

The first pic is a Monkey Skoodie! It's a work in progress and for a kid so it's a little small on me... but I love it. 

The Second is a broach I made for my Grandma.  I needle felted the back of it so I could attach a pin.  The beads are glass from our trip to Venice this summer.

Getting Started

I've been crocheting for several years now, and knitting for less than a year.  I can follow patterns, but what I really love is creating things from scratch.  My pattern for Skoodies (hooded scarves) have been selling very well.  I've also sold my own take on shrugs, basic hats with embellishments, and wire jewelry.  I've been successful in selling items through my facebook group, Molly Made, but I really want to step it up a notch.

    I plan on using this blog as a way of pushing myself to come up with new items, and as a way to meet others who love yarn as much as I do.  I am really into combining knitting and crocheting.  All too often I find people who only knit or only crochet, and I feel we should appreciate and take advantage of both art forms.  They each have equally useful and beautiful traits, so why not combine them!  

    I'll start this blog with some skoodie pics.  Eventually I want to post the pattern for sale on Etsy, but I've never actually written the pattern out.  I'll be sure to announce when the pattern is up for sale.
